#4 Accountability mirror July13-Aug13

I could use a little more accountability in my life. After listening to the “Can’t Hurt Me” Audiobook By David Goggins, I really liked the idea of looking myself in the mirror every night and asking if I lived to my full potential.

For me I’m very black and white. You either complete something or you don’t. I did not do exactly as I said I would do every night and morning. In fact most nights I did look myself in the mirror and ask if I lived to my full potential that day, but there were some nights I missed (not from laziness, I just forgot). But I feel like I got the essence of what I want to accomplish. It is now part of my routine and the more days I consistently do it, the more comfortable it will become.

This exercise ended up becoming more about the intention I set for the day ahead. I found it more useful for me to say the 2 or 3 goals I wanted to accomplish on the day ahead as opposed to how I did. An example of this is I would say to myself in the morning that I am going to eat nothing until a shake at noon and I am going to bike up and get my daughter. By doing this I felt I was holding myself accountable and getting my day started on the right track.
